New 1000mods coming soon?!

Drums are done.

Short message, big deal. For the uninitiated, 1000mods is one of our favorite heavy rock bands in the stoner metal scene today. If you’re a fan of bands like Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Red Fang - or if you somehow don’t love those bands but are in the market for a supremely heavy psychedelic soundtrack to drive through a desert to, this is a band for you.

Friends since childhood, Dani (Bass & Vocals), Giannis (Guitar), Giorgos (Guitar), and Labros (Drums) have jammed most of their lives, but started playing gigs in and around their hometown of Chiliomodi Greece around 2006. After a pair of nifty EPs Blank Reality and Liquid Sleep released in 2007 & 2009 respectively, 1000mods truly burst into the scene with their debut album Super Van Vacation in 2010. They’ve subsequently released Vultures (2014), Repeated Exposure To... (2016), and most recently Youth of Dissent (2020) - all albums that live in our regular rotation. There’s no wrong place to start with 1000mods, they came out of the gate with a confident, fully fledged sound that’ll transfix you immediately.

Fresh off of last year’s North American Tour (we had a blast catching them at 2023’s NYC DesertFest), it’s super exciting to see that Labros has stayed on schedule to lay down the backbone of what we can only imagine will be another stellar auditory experience. He’s also without question one of the coolest and most thoughtful guests we’ve had the honor to host - if you missed it you should totally give this conversation recorded shortly before last year’s North American Tour a listen!
